Convener of GAMA, Regina Robinson, during Saturday’s award presentation, said that the award was to celebrate and reward distinguished men and women who are selfless and have impacted others positively.

“The award celebrates individuals and bodies who have, over the years, supported life-changing causes, especially in the areas of health and most prominently the less privileged, physically challenged and children with special needs as well as the teeming youth population,” he said.

Other notable recipients of the award include veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, reggae musician Orits Wiliki, and vocalist Yinka Davies. The trio were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Pastor Wale Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of Guiding Light Assembly Church, and Rev. Ngozi Okorie of Full Life Christian Assembly, among others, also won the award of excellence for service to humanity.
