The leadership of the Auto Spear Parts and Machinery Dealers Association- ASPAMDA, the most iconic business community in Africa, has paid a courtesy call on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in his country home at Umuanuka, Otolo Nnewi, on the New Year.
The President of ASPAMDA, Chief Ngozi Emechebe thanked the Senator for his longstanding support and various timely interventions for the ASPAMDA. For more than a decade, he said, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has been a force of stability in the market. Other speakers spoke glowingly about Ubah’s selfless efforts towards a better and more organised ASPAMDA, although he has no personal interest in the market, whatsoever, as he has neither business nor structure in the market.
Speaking, Senator Ubah expressed joy over the visit, while reiterating his commitment to the business community because of their importance in driving the economy of Nigeria. Ubah who has neither a plaza, nor a shop in the market said his interventions are informed by his understanding of the very critical place of the business community in the economic development of Lagos, Anambra, and Nigeria, in general.
In his comments, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah also admonished the visiting businessmen to adopt various smart business models and funding, assuring that the President, Bola Tinubu is willing to listen to ideas and suggestions on how to move their businesses forward so that while their businesses are growing and adding more value, they are in turn fulfilling their civic responsibility to the government. Ubah also admonished that as business-oriented people, they must re-evaluate their politics in their own best interests.
Speaking on ideas of how he intends to tap into what the business community in ASPAMDA is doing to improve the business community in Anambra, Senator Ubah reeled out a series of ideas on funding options, intergovernmental linkages, and leveraging on smart politics, as part of his plans to expand the ASPAMDA vision.
Chief Anthony Ofomata in his vote of thanks, appreciated the Senator and emphasised on the need to embrace smart politics.
