In a dazzling display of charm and elegance, Miss Christabel Nwaogu has been crowned Ada Amaokpala 2024, after emerging the winner of the community’s beauty contest amidst fierce competition.
The event which is the second edition, held in Amaokpala, Orumba North Local Government Area, showcased the beauty, intelligence, and poise of young women from the community, as the winner hails from Amaokwe village of the town.
Sponsored by Amaokpala Development Union, Diaspora Branch, the pageant, a celebration of culture and elegance, drew a large audience and stakeholders from the community and beyond to witness the crowning of the new Ada Amaokpala.
The competition kicked off as the eight contestants dazzled the judges and audience in various rounds, including traditional attire, talent showcase, and the dinner gown segment.
As the tension in the square-like venue reached its peak, the announcement of the winner echoed through the venue, and a wave of excitement swept through the audience.
Miss Nwaogu adorned in her resplendent gown, beamed with joy as she was crowned Ada Amaokpala 2024, while Miss Precious Chukwuma emerged as first runner up and Miss Mmesoma Eze, the second runner up.
The winner went home with 200,000 Naira, the second and third positions got 100,000 and 50,000 respectively, while others received 20,000 naira consolation prizes.
Speaking, Miss Nwaogu, expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon her, emphasizing her dedication to promoting education and encouraging young ladies in the town.
In his speech, the Chairman, diaspora branch, Dr. Chukwudi Okeke represented by Chairman of the Beauty Pageant, Prince Chidiebele Ikwueto said the event served as a platform to showcase the talents and potential of young girls, fostering a sense of pride and unity within Amaokpala community.
Dr. Okeke noted that through the pageant the contestants acquire priceless benefits and life skills, highlighting some benefits of the occasion, like gaining self-confidence and self-esteem, self discipline, motivation, determination and communication abilities among others.
