Hope Uzodimma, took the oath of office for a second term as Governor of Imo State around 3:24 pm in Owerri on Monday after his deputy, Chinyere Ekomaru.
After the state governorship election which was held in November 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission announced Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress as the winner with 540,308 votes, while Samuel Anyanwu of the People’s Democratic Party came second with a total of 71,503 votes.
Athan Achonu of the Labour Party polled 64,081 votes to come third in the election.
The event was attended by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker, House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, All Progressives Congress leaders, and supporters.
