The gyration sensation, Tony Oneweek, is set to release his new single “GAME”, which is a follow-up to his recently released single “PLAY,” featuring Kolaboy. Play is Tony’s first in the series of eight singles in his brand reactivation, unveiled in Awka, in November 2023. The well attended unveiling in Awka saw a swift reacceptance of the gyration brand championed by Tony more than two decades ago. However, upon Tony’s election to Anambra State House of Assembly in 2011, he took a voluntary break from the music and entertainment industry. After his tenure as a House member representing Idemili North constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, he was later appointed as Special Adviser to former Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, and served in that capacity until 2021.
Since last year that Tony reactivated his brand, the reception has been overwhelming, which speaks to the gap he left in Nigeria’s music industry that has not been filled, despite the remarkable progress that Nigerian music industry has seen in the last two decades. Tony’s anniversary show to celebrate his 25 years as gyration master served as the needed catalyst for more, from the gyration maestro and since then, he has lived up to that anticipation.
His new single “GAME” will be released on all digital and streaming platforms online as the second of eight songs that would be released under “THE RETURN” album by December 2024. Therefore, from February 1, 2024, GAME will be available to media houses and all lovers of gyration music and fans of Tony, to their delight and fun.
He is a Technical Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano’s Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, whoonce was a Special Adviser to a former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly.
