To avert the breakdown of law and order in the Mangu local government area, Plateau State Governor, Caleb  Mutfwang, has declared a 24-hour curfew in the local government area with immediate effect.
The Director of Press and Public Affairs, Government House, Gyang Bere in a statement issued on Tuesday said the decision was taken after consultations with relevant security agencies.
Bere advised citizens, especially Mangu residents, to comply with the sit-at-home order while only persons on essential duties are allowed to move within the local government area until further notice

Governor Mutfwang expressed sympathy to the families of the victims and the injured with assurances that the government will not relent in ensuring lasting peace in the state.
He urged residents of Mangu Local Government Area to assist the security personnel by providing reliable information to restore peace and order in the area.
