The Congregation of Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Claretian Missionaries) is appealing for the safety and freedom of two members who were kidnapped by bandits on Thursday, 1 February.
In a statement issued on 2 February, the provincial secretary of the Claretian Missionaries (CMF), Rev. Fr Dominic Ukpo announced with “sadness” the abduction of Rev. Fr Kenneth Kanwa and his assistant, Rev. Fr Jude Nwachukwu.

Fr Kanwa is the parish priest of St. Vincent De Paul Fier Parish of Pankshin Diocese in crisis-torn Plateau State.
“The abduction happened at the parish rectory on the night of Thursday, 1st of February, 2024,” Fr Ukpong said.
He appealed for spiritual solidarity, saying, “We solicit your prayers at this challenging time for their safety and quick release from captivity.”
