A magistrate court II, Mubi, Adamawa State has remanded a lecturer with Adamawa State University (ADSU) Mubi, Danjuma Garandi in prison custody over the alleged sexual molestation of the lady.

Garandi who is the examination officer of the department of Geography was alleged to have sexually assaulted a female secondary school leaver in his office on the school premises.

SP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje, Adamawa State Police Command image maker said the incident was first taken to the court without police involvement, but the court reverted to the police for a detailed investigation.

Nguroje said the police investigation report indicted the lecturer for attempting to have carnal knowledge of the girl and based on the police report the court remanded the lecturer in the Mubi correctional facility.

Reacting to an SMS message sent to his mobile phone number, the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Dr. Steven Lagu said he is constrained to comment on the issue as it is currently in court.

“The matter is in court, so I’m constrained to make any statement on it. Thanks a million,” Dr Lagu said.
