CSP Ben Eke, the Aide-de-Camp – ADC, to former governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has buried his late mother, Lady Mary Amaka Eke, amidst unparalleled support by his colleagues in the Obiano’s administration. Lady Amaka Eke, who passed on at the age of 84 years was laid to rest on Saturday in her home in Nibo, Awka South local government area.
The deceased son, CSP Ben Eke served Governor Willie Obiano as ADC and was with the governor from the beginning to the end of his eight-year tenure in 2022. Yet, two years after they had left office, all key members of the former administration gathered and demonstrated a never-seen-before solidarity with their former colleague, at the time he needed it. They willingly rallied around and supported, as well as attended the burial in what might be the first-time former colleagues in a political dispensation in Anambra State are coming together years after they have left power.
Lady Eke’s burial was attended by former commissioners, former Special Advisers, Chief Willie Obiano’s brothers, the principal secretary to Governor Obiano, Chief Willie Nwokoye, who also represented Governor Willie Obiano and many other key members of the Obiano administration. The Chief Security Officer – CSO, Governor Obiano, Chinedum Aniagboso, and other key security aides of the former governor were all in attendance. At the mobilization stage which was on till the burial day, Uzu Okagbue, the former governor’s Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff, and Chief Uche Nworah, the former Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service – ABS, under Obiano, led the charge on that front.
As Lady Eke received the last respect, befitting as it were, the funeral has triggered a possible reassessment of the Obiano’s team to unravel why the team has remained firm two clear years after they left office.
He is a Technical Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano’s Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, whoonce was a Special Adviser to a former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly. Ebuka is a second class upper division graduate of Political Science from University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria and holds a Masters Degree in Political Science with specialization in Government and Development Studies, from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Nigeria
