The governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Sunday marked his two years in office. The occasion which was held at the International Convention Centre – ICC, has in attendance government officials, members of the National Assembly representing diverse constituencies in the state, the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, Dr. Chris Ngige, and many others. Among the members of the National Assembly who graced the occasion were Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike, the former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly and currently a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ihiala Federal Constituency. It would be recalled that the governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo was sworn in on March 17th, 2022 which makes March 17th, 2024 exactly two years since he mounted the saddle of leadership in Anambra state.

During the occasion which was marked with prayers and a presentation of his scorecard, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo also committed to ensure that major Anambra cities are linked to the State capital by superhighways. He also reiterated his assurance that the One Youth, Two Skills program of the government would continue. Soludo’s extensive and detailed scorecard presentation moved from road construction to the employment of teachers and health workers, among other activities of the government in the last two years.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike commended the governor highly; emphasizing that Governor Soludo has set the pace in governance. “Having looked at the faces of ndi Anambra, you see joy and that is the true confirmation that the solution we are seeking is here with us. Soludo has delivered so far. He scores very high and has broken a record as one of the best governors in Nigeria”, Hon. Agbidike said. Emphasizing further, the House of Representative member also said that Soludo has all it may take to deliver quality projects to ndi Anambra. He also thanked the governor, APGA, as well as the National Chairman of APGA, while assuring of his support to the governor and his party, APGA. Hon. Pascal Agbodike also pledged to ensure that he continues to influence projects from the National Assembly to Anambra State, while also appealing to stakeholders to give full support to the governor.

Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment Programmes, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, has equally commended the governor’s projects and programs in the last two years. Speaking to newsmen at the end of the event, Dr. Omenugha said that the government and the governor have done “exceedingly well.” “We are talking about 24 months and within these 24 months, there are foundational reforms that have been transformative. As it concerns the youths, the youths of Anambra have never had it so good. They are the highest beneficiary of the programs and policies of this administration,” Omenugha said. Narrating the government’s achievements, Omenugha held that youths are the greatest beneficiaries of the programs of Soludo’s administration. According to the Special Adviser, the one youth, two skills, the employment of teachers and health workers, the free antenatal, are far more beneficial to youths.
