The socio-political organisation, also urged the youths to exercise patience, pointing out that even though they expected Kanu to be granted bail on Tuesday after spending several months in incarceration, and it didn’t work out, they should still be hopeful.

It will be recalled that the embattled leader of IPOB spoke in court shortly after Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, refused to grant him bail on Tuesday.

While reacting to security challenges in the South-East region, Kanu vowed that those behind the violence in the name of being IPOB members would not be spared.

He stated that the violence persisted because he is being held in the detention facility of the Department of State Services (DSS).

He vowed that if released, there would be peace in the entire South-East region, promising that he would restore peace in the region in two minutes

In a press statement on Wednesday signed by the President-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the organisation stated, “Tuesday 19th March 2024 the Federal High Court Abuja deliberated on the case of our son and brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. “This case has been adjourned till 17th of April 2024. I wish to appeal to all Nigerian Youths to exercise some patience and avoid any act that would lead to the destruction of life and property.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kalu has made it very clear on many occasions that he will not support any act of arson or bloodshed. We put our trust in the divine providence of Almighty God and by God’s grace Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be free from incarceration very soon. I appeal to everyone to be patient,” he added.
