In celebration of Eid el-Fitr, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, 9th April, and Wednesday, 10th April 2024, as public holidays.
This announcement comes after the sighting of the crescent moon, signifying the end of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan.
He also urged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of unity and continue to practice the virtues of kindness, tolerance, and compassion exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.
Eid el-Fitr, also known as the “Festival of Breaking Fast,” is a joyous occasion marking the culmination of Ramadan.
Muslims typically celebrate with special prayers, family gatherings, exchanging gifts, and enjoying festive meals.
