Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications has lauded Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo over his achievements in 100 days in office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
Fanwo disclosed this on Sunday in a congratulatory message while addressing journalists in Lokoja.
The Commissioner described Ododo as a great achiever who hit the ground running on 27th January, 2024 after his landslide victory in the November 11th Gubernatorial Election, stressing that Ododo had worked tirelessly and selflessly under the immediate past administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the Auditor General for Local Governments.
He noted that Ododo knows the right steps to consolidate and continue the good legacies of GYB.
In his words, “Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is a man who worked closely with Alhaji Yahaya Bello who brought gigantic development to the state. As a man who has the good people of Kogi State at heart and who is to consolidate and continue the GYB legacy projects, he hit the ground running on the 27th January, 2024 and ever since has been actively touching thematic areas like, security, education, agriculture, health, infrastructural development, human capital development, welfarism of the civil servants and citizenty.
“It’s no longer news that the dualization and rehabilitation of several roads within Lokoja metropolis that kicked off under the immediate past administration have continued under Ododo who has hastened and fast- tracked the work to reach completion in no distant time.
“Security of life and property of the citizenry is another top priority for his Excellency, as different security agencies have been met and important decisions taken on to strengthen security.
“Recently, His Excellency unveiled new operational vehicles for the Kogi State Vigilante Service to enhance its operational efficiency. This effort is to further add to the existing security apparatus on ground.
“His Excellency has also distributed food stuff to the citizens in order to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal.
“These distributions were done in such a way that they reached the grassroots. The state and Local Government staff, including the pensioners, have been enjoying good salaries and other benefits under his administration.”
Fanwo also lauded Ododo for drastic steps taken to see the State Broadcasting Corporation operate for at least 20 hours per day as he made directives that ensured that standard solar power and 33 KVA transformers were installed for effectiveness and efficiency.
He reiterated that His Excellency has been able to achieve all these and so many that can’t be itemized here just within 100 days in office.
The commissioner used the opportunity to appeal to the citizens to shun politics of bigotry and throw their support behind Ododo for rapid and robust development of the state.
