Following reported cases of measles outbreak in Mubi North, Gombi, and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State which claimed 42 lives, the state government has ordered the closure of all schools for one week.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Aisha Umar, the closure which affects both public and private schools is aimed at enabling the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA) to vaccinate the vulnerable age group.
The schools across the state had on Monday 6.5.2024 resumed for the third term session, but the ministry has again rescheduled the school resumption date to Monday, May 13, 2024.
The statement directed all public and private schools to comply with the directive.
