Kemi Nandap, Controller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has stressed the need for maintaining secrecy in planning and executing operations to safeguard troops during security operations.

Nandap, stated this at the opening of the ongoing Leadership Course in Operations Security and Force Protection organized by the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) in Abuja, noted the critical nature of keeping adversaries uninformed in today’s complex security landscape.

Represented by George Didel, Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Human Resources Management at the Nigerian Immigration Headquarters in Abuja, Mrs Nandap highlighted the significance of achieving operational objectives amidst evolving security challenges.

Nandap pledged the commitment of NIS to complement efforts in safeguarding the territorial integrity of Nigeria, and underscored the pivotal roles of the Nigerian Army and NIS in securing the country.

She emphasized the fundamental obligation of ensuring the safety of personnel with the participation of Immigration Personnel serving in the Joint Task Force Combatting Insurgency.

In a remark, Retired Major-General Garba Wahab, the Director General of NARC, explained that the course aims to facilitate collaboration among practitioners from diverse services, agencies, and organizations to comprehend their strengths and weaknesses.

“The course’s objective is to foster seamless collaboration and teamwork among personnel from different agencies, enhancing networking, understanding each other’s capabilities, and promoting cohesive action on the field.

“The substantial turnout for the course’s third edition indicates the significant impact of previous editions on participating personnel,” General Wahab said.

Participants were drawn from the military, para-military, sister security agencies, and private security organizations, aimed to enhance operational effectiveness and promote synergy among security stakeholders.
