The Federal Government, through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has announced the official opening date for the student loan application portal. Applications will be accepted starting Friday, 24th May 2024.
This move represents a significant step forward in President Bola Tinubu’s pledge to make education “accessible and inclusive for all Nigerian students,” as stated by NELFUND.

The portal, said NELFUND, boasts a user-friendly interface, allowing students to easily submit loan applications and bridge the financial gap to achieve their academic goals.
NELFUND urges all eligible students to seize this opportunity.
“We encourage all eligible students to take advantage of this opportunity to invest in their future and contribute to the growth and development of our nation,” a statement signed by NELFUND’s Media and Public Relations Lead, Nasir Ayitogo, said.
NELFUND has not yet released details on eligibility criteria or loan terms. Students are advised to visit the NELFUND website, http://nelf.gov.ng, for updates and further information.
