Kaduna State witnessed a successful intervention by a mobile police unit on Friday, 19th May 2024. The unit, recently deployed to Kuriga in the Chikun Local Government Area, thwarted an attempted attack on local farmers.
According to a statement by Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, the police received distress calls about an ongoing attack on the outskirts of Kuriga village. Responding swiftly, the security forces engaged in a shootout with the bandits.
The statement further details that “two of the criminals were neutralised” during the exchange of gunfire. “Forces recovered two AK47 rifles and 17 rounds of ammunition from the scene,” Aruwan added.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State commended the police for their swift response and successful operation.
