In a statement released on Friday, DHQ spokesperson Edward Buba revealed that troops deployed across the country killed 220 terrorists and arrested 395 suspected criminals in the past week. The successful missions also freed 202 kidnapped victims who were likely held by these groups.
In addition to the arrests and killings, the military also recovered 432 different weapons and 9,004 different ammunition, including PKT guns, locally fabricated guns, RPG bombs, and smoke grenades.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, also revealed that in the South-South, troops denied oil thieves crude estimated to be worth the sum of N1,860,151,700.
Buba’s statement highlighted the success of various operations across the country. These included airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, that reportedly killed 80 terrorists attacking a village in Katsina state, and a raid on a terrorist camp in Plateau state that recovered weapons.
