Nigeria’s contingent to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, will comprise 88 athletes who will compete in various sports from 26 July to 11 August 2024.
The athletes will participate in sports such as athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, football, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting, and wrestling.
Minister of Sports Development, John Owan Enoh, has expressed optimism about the team’s performance, urging Nigerians to support the athletes.
“Our athletes are putting in tremendous effort and dedication in their preparations,” Enoh said. “We are confident that with the support of every Nigerian, our team will excel and make the nation proud.”
Some of the top athletes representing Nigeria include Oluwatobiloba Amusan and Ese Brume (athletics), Blessing Oborodudu and Odunayo Adekouroye (wrestling).
Others are Elizabeth Anyanacho (taekwondo), Ese Ukpeseraye (cycling), and Aruna Quadri (table tennis).
