The National Project Coordinator Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), Mr. Sanusi Abubakar stated this when he and his team visited the Enugu State Governor on Monday at the Government House, Enugu.
“Today in my office, I received a delegation from the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), led by the National Project Coordinator, Mr. Sanusi Abubakar, who conveyed to me the delightful news of the selection of Enugu as the location for the first Regional Model Veterinary Hospital for the South-East Zone,” Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Enugu State Governor tweeted in his verified X account.
“This Regional Veterinary Hospital coincides perfectly with our present focus on expanding our meat and dairy production to serve Enugu State and beyond.”
“It is an initiative that aligns with our ambitious target of generating over ₦100 billion from livestock production and processing, and will significantly boost our economy, enhance the capacity of our farmers, and strengthen the agricultural value chain across the state.”
“Our recent Enugu State Ranch Management Agency Law is designed to unlock vast economic opportunities, create jobs, and increase our GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.”
Governor Mbah further wooing investors to the state said, “We’re putting in place strong policies to support these goals, and Enugu has the potential of becoming a major player in meat and dairy production for export. I invite investors to seize the opportunities presented by the new ranch law, the veterinary hospital, and our partnership with L-PRES. We are committed to ensuring a secure and thriving environment for investments in Enugu. Looking forward to the positive impact these initiatives will bring!”
L-PRES is a 6 Year Project with Development Objective (PDO) to improve livestock productivity, resilience and commercialization of selected value chains and to strengthen the country’s capacity to respond to an eligible crisis or emergency.
