The erstwhile Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku has been picked at his Abuja residence on Friday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged fraud of N27bn.
It was gathered that EFCC would soon arraigned Ishaku in court on at least ast 15-count charges as evidence against him have been compiled.
Dele Oyewale, the spokesman of the EFCC who confirmed the arrest, but declined further comments.
“Yes, he’s in our custody right now. We have been investigating him covertly since he left as the State governor. There a lot of financial malfeasance he perpetrated,” Oyewale said.
Ishaku’s arrest amidst face-off between the anti-graft agency and the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, who was alleged to have stolen N80.2bn while in office.
