NewsPolice Commence Investigation On Allege Extortion By Vigilantes

Adamawa State Police Command has commenced investigation into alleged unlawful arrest and extortions of innocent victims by some members of vigilante operatives at Song Cattle market.

According to a statement by the image maker of the command SP Sulaiman Nguroje said the action was sequel to a viral video clip in which a resident was heard complaining bitterly about the action of the vigilantes.

The statement reads in part: “The Command wishes to inform members of the public that investigation has since commenced to unravel the veracity of the allegation.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), reaffirms the commitment of the Command’s readiness and intolerance to corrupt practices and Extortions as it is unlawful and unacceptable

“The CP in the interest of peace and well-being of the people of Adamawa State will decisively deal with any act that threatens the peace of the public will be dealt with in accordance with law.

“In view of the above, the Command calls on members of the public particularly victim(s) or those that are aware of such allegations to come forward and aid investigation.

“The Command calls on the public to remain calm and cooperate fully with the investigators, as the Adamawa State Police Command remains dedicated to ensuring justice and maintaining peace”.
