President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday (today) for a state visit to France, following an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron, according to a statement from the State House on Tuesday.

The three-day visit is aimed at strengthening political, economic, and cultural relations between both nations. It will focus on creating partnerships in agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition.

President Tinubu and First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, will be officially received on Thursday at Les Invalides, a historic French military museum, and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and his wife, Brigitte.

The visit will commence with initial ceremonies before transitioning into bilateral meetings.

The discussions between the two leaders will address shared interests, including finance, solid minerals, trade, and communication. They will also focus on youth skill development in areas such as automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.

Both presidents will witness a session of the France–Nigeria Business Council, which promotes private sector participation in economic development.

The First Ladies are also expected to deliberate on empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups through Mrs Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.=

A state dinner will be hosted by President Macron before the delegation departs.
