The chief Imam of Jumma’at Mosque Dougirei in Yola North local government area, Sheik Isma’il Ishaku has cautioned Muslims against rebuking fellow Muslims without justification.
The Islamic scholar gave the charge while delivering a lecture on the importance of Da’awah in Islam at an event organized by Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria IMWON, Adamawa State Chapter held at the Jumma’at Mosque Dougirei behind Bindow’s residence.
He called on Muslims to follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in their daily affairs, particularly during spreading the message of Islam.
Sheik Ishaku lamented that many Muslims residing in rural areas are not knowledgeable about Islamic tenets and challenged the organization to extend their activities to rural communities to educate rural dwellers on how to worship Allah properly.
He expressed delight with the foresight of the leadership of the organization to organize the seminar, saying adherence to the teachings of Islam will cement relationships between people of different races and mitigate any crisis in society.
The Islamic scholar highlighted qualities of a person carrying out Da’awah to include perseverance, learning, humble, trustworthiness, and honesty among others.
Hajiya Asma’u Aliyu Abubakar, Adamawa State Amirah of IMWON said the seminar was organized to reinvigorate the Da’awah section of the organization so that they can penetrate all nooks and crannies across the state.
Earlier in her welcome address, Hajiya Maimuna Ahmed, IMWON State Treasurer, thanked presenters for their contributions in reawakening Muslims to the need to contribute their quota to propagating Islam.
The seminar will last for two days with participants drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas in the state.
