Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), South-South apex socio-political organisation has hailed the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on his 62nd birthday.

The organisation has in a release on Monday signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Dr. Obiuwevbi Ominimini, noted that it’s a thing of joy to have the former Akwa Ibom State Governor as the Senate President at a time such as this, and described him as God’s gift to the nation, a dependable leader, political icon and a national conscience builder.

The organisation, while felicitating with Akpabio said, “In this time where there is global economic meltdown, the Nigeria Senate under the leadership of Sen. Godswill Akpabio has done well by stabilising the legislature to play a significant role in public spending of institutions and government, and making laws to advance public good.

“PANDEF under the chairmanship of Amb. Godknows Igali commends the Senate President for commitment to sound and healthy leadership in the Red and Green Chambers of the National Assembly.

“Amb Igalli, a renowned Administrator and Diplomat, who is the National Chairman of the Niger Delta Socio-political apex umbrella body commends Akpabio as chairman of the National Assembly for maintaining cordial and peaceful relationship with the executive without compromising the independence of the legislature.

“We urge Niger Deltans in particular and Nigerians at large to continue to pray for Sen. Akpabio, who is the highest political office holder from the South-South geo-political zone of Nigeria, so that he can succeed, since his success will impact positively on not just the Niger Delta region but Nigeria at large.”
