The immediate past Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye Rtd, has received a chieftaincy investiture as the Gbobaniyi of Modakeke Kingdom in Osun state. The retired CP was also honoured alongside his wife who received the chieftaincy title of Yeye Gbobaniyi of Madokeke Kindom.
These chieftaincy investitures conferred by His Royal Majesty, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola (Ajibise Ogo 1) Ogunsua of Modakeke Kingdom, was a significant recognition and appreciation of CP Adeoye’s incredible career journey in the Nigeria Police Force, where he served from the entry cadre to the peak of career progress and retired as Commissioner of Police.
While in service, CP Remi Adeoye spent many years in Anambra serving in Onitsha, Nnewi, and Awka. Only in 2021, he was Anambra’s Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations and led the police team that managed the 2021 Anambra State governorship election. A few months later, he was elevated to Commissioner of Police, but was transferred to Lagos, and later posted to Anambra State where he served till his retirement earlier this year.
During his time in Anambra, CP Adeoye received chieftaincy titles and other recognitions including a street at Amawbia in Awka South LGA which was named after him, among others.
However, the chieftaincy investiture by Oba Joseph Toriola is an important honour from the home front which is usually uncommon and often holds a high value for recipients.
