The Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, has commended Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, more popularly known as Ikenga Umuawulu, for his dedication to his community which he demonstrates through regular empowerment programmes. According to the Vice Chancellor who witnessed this year’s event, Chief Ndubuisi is outstanding in his commitment to initiatives that better the lives of members of his community. Omenugha described Chief Ndubuisi’s outreach as an “extraordinary community empowerment, which directly benefitted men and women, and youths,” Prof. Omenugha said, emphasizing that it “underscores his unwavering commitment to societal development.”
Some empowerment resources shared with beneficiaries by Chief Ndubuisi include; shuttle buses, tricycle truck loaders, grinding machines, and deep freezers, among others, aimed at supporting and strengthening small and petty businesses.
Speaking to the beneficiaries, Prof. Omenugha encouraged them to make the best out of the empowerment benefit. “To the youths who received shuttle buses and trucks during the empowerment programme, I emphasize the importance of using these opportunities as stepping stones to greatness,” she said.
At the moment, Chief Ndubuisi is a member of the Board of Council at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, where he is completing an ICT building, and also leading another project that he intends to endow to the university upon completion. “Ikenga Umuawulu’s actions reflect values deeply rooted in his upbringing, and I remain steadfast in my prayer for him,” Prof. Omenugha said.
