Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, on Tuesday, announced his final 23-man squad ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against their yet-to-be-named opponents.
The announcement follows the release of an expanded provisional squad of 39 players last week.
These qualifiers will mark Chelle’s first competitive games in charge of the three-time African champions.
The squad includes three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders, and eight forwards, blending experience with new talents.
Stanley Nwabali, Amas Obasogie, and Kayode Bankole will compete for the starting goalkeeper spot.
The defensive lineup features William Troost-Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Igoh Ogbu.
In midfield, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Raphael Onyedika, Alhassan Yusuf, and Papa Daniel Mustapha will control the game.
The attack is spearheaded by Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, and Sadiq Umar, alongside wingers like Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Nathan Tella, Ademola Lookman, and Tolu Arokodare.
Nigeria will be aiming for a strong start in their quest for a place at the 2026 World Cup.
