The management of Taraba State University Jalingo has reiterated its zero tolerance to cultism, examination malpractice, and other anti-social behaviours.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sunday Paul Bako, stated this while administering an oath to newly admitted undergraduate students at the College of Education, Hong study centre, urged the students to avoid anything that may jeopardize their academic pursuit.
He said to maintain the standard of teaching and learning, students of the institution in Hong Kong will receive equal support with their counterparts in the main campus Jalingo and periodic monitoring to ensure compliance with delivery.
The Vice Chancellor reminded the matriculating students that they are ambassadors of the University, and among the lucky ones that gained admission, explained that out of twenty-seven thousand applicants that applied for admission this academic session, only seven thousand, eight hundred scaled through.
Professor Bako then urged the matriculated students to be determined to succeed in their academic pursuit and the College of Education Hong community.
Earlier in his speech, the Provost of the College of Education, Hong, Professor Yusuf Benson Baha, said the College, in collaboration with Taraba State University, Jalingo, currently offers fourteen undergraduate degree programmes that have successfully undergone a verification exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission.
He said it is a testament to the College’s unwavering commitment to upholding exemplary academic standards. He thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing all the necessary resources to support the undergraduate programmes.
He implored the newly admitted students to wholeheartedly embrace the values of discipline, diligence, integrity, and resilience.
The Provost commended Tol Hoba, His Royal Majesty, Tol Hoba, Alheri Bulus Nyako for fostering educational initiatives and dedication to the advancement of education in the community.
In a similar development, the Provost College of Education, Hong, Professor Yusuf Benson Baha has administered an oath to eight hundred and thirty-three newly admitted NCE students.
