A lifeless body of an unidentified male adult was discovered under a slab that contained armored cable wiring.
The Jigawa State Police Command Public Relation Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, in a statement disclosed that on the 15 May, 2025, at about 1000hrs, the Command received a distress call from the ministry of works regarding an unfortunate incident that occurred at the Jigawa State Secretariat New Complex, Dutse.
“A team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer of Dutse Division responded to the call and discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified male.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was electrocuted while attempting to vandalize armored electrical cables connected to a high-voltage power source.
“The deceased’s body, which had begun to decompose, has since been evacuated to Dutse General Hospital for a medical examination. This incident highlighted the serious risks associated with vandalism of public infrastructure, particularly electrical installations,” the statement said.
