Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has fires Imo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister C. O. C. Akaolisa, with immediate effect.
The sacking of the commissioner was contained in a press statement by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy, Declan Emelumba and no reason was given.
His sack was coming barely a few weeks after the newly appointed Chief Justice of the state, Theophilus Nzeukwu was removed following recommendations of the Nigeria Judicial Council that faulted the process of his emergence.
The statement directed Barrister C. O. C. Akaolisa to hand over all the government’s property in his possession to the State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice immediately.
The sacked Attorney General has occupied the position since the first tenure of Uzodinma’s administration.
