In less than two weeks, bandits have abducted 110 people in separate incidents in Bakura and Zurmi local government areas of Zamfara state, North-west Nigeria.
A resident of Gusau, the state capital, Mallam Kawu Sule, in an interview with West African Pilot News, said 60 people were abducted in Bakura LGA, and 50 others in Zurmi LGA and Kaura Nomada LGA 38 other abductees were ordered by the bandits to slaughter themselves.
He attributed the incidents to the deteriorating security situation in the state, calling on the state government to intensify efforts to bring an end to the activities of banditry across the state.
Mallam Kawu Sule, a PDP stalwart, called on people of the state to continue with fervent prayers seeking Allah’s intervention for lasting peace across the state.
