The community of Kuma in the Suktu District of Song local government area of Adamawa State has decried the gruesome murder of a hunter, Mr. Joseph Ardo, allegedly carried out by uniform security personnel.
A stakeholder in the area, Atenka John, had alleged that the deceased, who is a member of the Hunters assisting in the maintenance of law in the area, was killed by some uniform security personnel.
He alleged that the personnel whisked away the deceased Saturday last week around 10 pm, and his lifeless body was found the next day in the bush with his throat cut.
Mr. John then called on the head of security personnel, particularly the Army and the police in the state, to investigate the matter with a view to punishing those behind the act, so that the community would have peace of mind.
Reacting to the incident, the spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, Superintendent of Police Suleiman Yahya Nguroje, said the Commissioner of Police has directed the Divisional Police Officer of Song Division to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to face the full wrath of the law.
SP Nguroje called on the residents in the area to remain calm, as police will ensure justice is done to the family of the deceased.
