NewsNigeriaPower8 LGAs In Adamawa, Taraba States To Experience Power Outage For A Week 

Some communities in Adamawa and Taraba States will experience a power outage from Monday, December 1, 2025, to Monday, December 8, 2025, disrupting business activities in eight local governments across the two states.
The local governments that would experience a total blackout from 1-8 December 2025 include Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, Zing, Lau, Mutum-Biyu, Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye, and Toungo.
According to a public statement by the Yola Electricity Distribution Company, YEDC, the power outage in the two states was a result of major maintenance work being undertaken by the company.
The statement said: “The power interruption, scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, and end on Monday, December 8, 2025, is aimed at improving power infrastructure and strengthening electricity supply in the region.
“The shutdown is necessary to allow MBH Power Contractor to complete rehabilitation and reinforcement work at the 330/132 kV and 132/33 kV transmission station in Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa State”.
“During the maintenance period, electricity supply from both the Mayo-Belwa and Jalingo transmission stations will be unavailable”.
YEDC, while urging consumers to prepares for a week-long planned power outage, advised them to make necessary arrangements ahead of the outage and expressed appreciation for their patience and cooperation.
The company also urged residents to stay vigilant around power installations and report any suspicious activities to ensure a smooth restoration process once the work is completed.
The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) was said to have also confirmed that the project includes connecting a turn-in-turn-out 330 kV line, a development expected to enhance the stability and reliability of the regional power network.
