Two sitting members of the Kano State House of Assembly have passed away within a short interval, a development that has plunged the State into mourning.
Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented Kano Municipal Local Government Area, died just minutes after news spread that his colleague, Aminu Sa’adu, the representative of Ungoggo Local Government Area had also passed away.
The passing of Sarki Aliyu Daneji was confirmed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the spokesperson to Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He announced the sad development through a post on his official Facebook page.
The near-simultaneous deaths shocked politicians and residents across the state, especially due to the active roles both men played in the Assembly.
