Three women farmers have been killed in a renewed communal clashes between Bachama and Chobo Communities in Lamurde local government area of Adamawa State.
The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed this in a statement said two people have been arrested in connection with the murders.
He said those arrested are William Joshua, 30 years and Ezekiel Luka, 23 years who are now aiding investigation.
“The three women were allegedly attacked and killed on 3rd January, 2026, by some Bachama natives at their farm around Tigno village, Lamurde LGA,” the statement said.
Nguroje added that the suspects are residents of Tigno, Lamurde LGA and preliminary investigation led to the recovery of some offensive weapons in their possession.
” Items recovered include 29 rounds of live ammunition, one magazine of AK-47 rifle, cash of ₦90,000, others,” the statement added.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, appealed for calm as the Command is doing everything humanly and legally possible to bring perpetrators and their instigators to book.
