NewsNigeriaSocial Media Platform, X  Blocks 3,500 Posts In India

Social media platform X reportedly blocked approximately 3,500 pieces of content and removed over 600 accounts in India in response to directives from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, MeitY.
The company admitted to lapses in moderating content on its platform and assured the Indian government of full compliance with local laws, according to government sources.
X also committed to preventing the circulation of obscene material on its platform going forward.
The measures follow instructions from MeitY to eliminate vulgar, unlawful, and obscene content, particularly material generated through X’s artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok.
MeitY is currently reviewing X’s detailed submission, which outlines the steps taken to address and mitigate the spread of inappropriate and illegal content on the platform.
According to sources cited by The Economic Times, X has informed authorities that it is introducing enhanced safeguards for Grok, including more stringent image-generation filters and other measures to prevent misuse of user images.
