The Village Head of Kurmi Wali in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state, Ishaku Dan’azumi, said Kidnappers who kidnapped over 100 worshippers are demanding N250m and 20 motorcycles as ransom to release the victims.
Recall that on 17 January 2026, Kidnappers stormed Cherubim and Seraphim 1 and 2, as well as Evangelical church Winning All (ECWA) during church service and whisked away with the worshippers.
According to Dan’azumi the Kidnappers alleged that they lost 17 motorcycles during recent military operations in Kajuru local government area and accused the community of stealing the motorcycles.
The Village Head said the attackers also accused the community of removing some parts of the remaining motorcycles.
“The Kidnappers called and said the Kurmin Wali community should pay them N250 million and 20 Motorcycles before they will release the kidnapped worshippers”, Dan’azumi said.
Although security and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani said efforts were ongoing to rescue them unharmed.
It was gathered that the abductee location was identified, the suspected bandits are said to be keeping the victims as human shields to prevent an attack on their camp.
“The security team, comprising operatives from all security agencies, is working around the clock to rescue them safely,” a security source said.
