FCTA workers and the Joint Union Action Committee have been directed to resume work immediately.
This is contained in a statement by General Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Comrade Benson Upah and Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria TUC, Nuhu Toro, asked all affiliates to comply with the directive in the interest of industrial peace and harmony in good faith.
The Unions had a conciliatory meeting with the Minister of the FCT, Mr Nyesome Wike Monday night at the instance of the Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Mohammed Bomoi.
During the meeting, Wike promised to address the workers’ complaints.
The meeting also agreed that no workers will be “victimized” as a result of the strike, and that all outstanding cases at the National Industrial Court will be withdrawn immediately.
Recall that the FCTA workers had been on strike due to the delay in the implementation of the report of the Technical Committee on the adjustment of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS), which was submitted in 2021.
