The Plateau State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from news circulating about an alleged zoning arrangement within the party.
In a statement issued in Jos on Monday the 13th, April,2026, the state party’s Publicity Secretary warned that the misinformation could mislead members and destabilize internal cohesion ahead of future political activities. The party further warned individuals and groups against spreading unverified information that could cause disunity among its members, stressing that such actions could undermine the party’s strength and credibility.
The statement reads: “We caution those behind the misinformation to desist immediately. The APC remains a united and disciplined party guided by due process and collective decision-making.”
Plateau has not taken any official decisions regarding the zoning of positions, urged members and the general public to disregard the fake rumors.
“At no time did the leadership of the APC in Plateau State meet to deliberate or agree on any zoning arrangement as being speculated in certain quarters. These claims are entirely unfounded,” the statement adds.
The leadership reassured party faithful that any major decisions affecting the party’s structure or direction would be communicated through official channels, urging members to rely only on credible sources.
