Gombe State Government has created 13 Local Council Development Areas due to population growth and the need to bring government closer to the people at the grassroots.
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, stated this during the flag-off ceremony for the Secretariat of the Amada Local Council Development Area (LCDA), highlighting the benefits of supporting the administration.
The Governor explained that the Local Council Development Areas were created over 20 years ago but were short-lived, and charged local administrations to focus on strengthening security, basic education, primary health care, and agriculture.
Yahaya gave assurance that the current LCDA’s will stand the test of time, since all legal procedures for the creation were followed from the State House of Assembly to the National Assembly, thus completing the first, second, and third stages.
He called for continued support for the people of the State as a guarantee of more people-oriented programs and projects, saying more than N50 billion has been expended on people-oriented projects in Gona Emirate alone.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Akko Local Government Area, Alhaji Mohammed Danladi, lauded the Governor for executing projects and programs that have a bearing on the lives of the people of the area and pledged continued support to his administration.
The Governor continued his tour of flagging off and inspection of projects in the remaining two Emirates in Akko LGA, Pindiga and Kumo Emirates.
