NewsNigeriaPoliticsImo 2027: Cubana Chief Priest Joins House of Reps Race

Celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu has entered partisan politics, declaring his ambition to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, said he would seek to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State.

He disclosed his plan in a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, shortly after a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) state secretariat, where he met party officials.

“Stopped by at our great party state secretariat to congratulate & encourage our state working committee on their emergence and above all, I made known to them my humble aspirations to represent my people, the good people of Orsu/Orlu & Oru East Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Reps. Na God get power, let the will of God be done,” he wrote.

Addressing party leaders in the video, Okechukwu formally sought their backing for his bid.

“I’ll be running for the office of the Federal House of Representatives. So, all I’m asking is for your blessings,” he said.

Beyond his declaration, he urged cohesion within the APC, calling on members to close ranks and work together as “brothers, sisters, and party people.”

His entry into the race underscores the growing participation of high-profile figures in Nigeria’s political space as mobilization quietly begins ahead of 2027.

Okechukwu is also a prominent figure in the City Boy Movement, a support group backing President Bola Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

He currently serves as the group’s Imo State Director, a role that has seen him involved in grassroots mobilization and party activities in the state.
