The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked the rumor of the alleged recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the 2027 general Elections.
This is amid online circulation of a message claiming that the Commission is currently recruiting and training ad-hoc staff for the 2027 general elections and directing applicants to: (https://gvly.xyz/INEC-Ad-hoc-Staff-Recruitment-Portal)
The electoral umpire, while reacting in a statement issued on its official X handle on Monday, clarified that the information is not from its management.
The commission urged members of the public not to click on the link or make any payment through the platform.
‘The website/link being circulated is not an official INEC recruitment portal. Members of the public are strongly advised not to click on the link, submit personal information, upload documents, or make any payment through the platform. Designing Custom Campaign Merchandise
‘INEC’s official recruitment and election-related announcements are published through the Commission’s verified communication channels and official websites. For official information, please visit: (http://inecnigeria.org).’ The statement read.
INEC recalled its previous warnings about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements, urging members of the public to disregard the false recruitment notice.
‘The Commission has previously warned the public about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements purporting to originate from INEC.”
The Commission added, “Please disregard and do not circulate this false recruitment notice. Stay informed. Stay safe. Always verify before you click.”
