Modibbo Adama University, Yola (MAU), in Adamawa State, has suspended all activities of the Northern Nigeria Students Forum (GAMJI) on campus with immediate effect.

The school authorities, in a circular dated 2nd September 2026 and signed by A. A. Musa, Student Affairs Officer for the Dean of Students Affairs, said the suspension followed growing rivalry among contestants for the leadership of the Northern Nigeria Students Forum, MAU Yola Chapter.
The university expressed concern that ongoing rivalry and competition could be detrimental to peace and harmony on campus.
“The Student Affairs Division has observed with dismay the rivalry between the contestants for the leadership of Northern Nigeria Student Forum (GAMJI), Modibbo Adama University, Yola Chapter. Efforts by the Dean and the Student Affairs Division to reconcile the contestants were futile.
“Consequently, all activities of GAMJI in the University are hereby suspended indefinitely. Concerned students are advised to abide by these directives and anybody who parades himself/herself as an executive of the suspended forum shall be penalized, please,” the statement said.
The university advised concerned students to abide by the directive and warned that any individual who presents themselves as an executive of the suspended forum may face disciplinary action.
