Early hours of Sunday, some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, converged at Community High School Emene, along old Abakaliki road to hold her meeting which was interrupted by the police.
Obviously, the police came to disperse or arrest the IPOB members but the attempt was resisted.
According to an Emene, Enugu indigene who pleads anonymity, one of the police officers first pulled the trigger killing an IPOB member.
The enraged members then overpowered the police and shot him dead while the other police officers scampered for safety calling for reinforcement.
However, before other security agents would get to the scene, the members had dispersed.
Unfortunately, a Hausa man selling vegetables at Orie Emene, a popular market in that area was murdered in cold blood.
His link to the whole fracas could not be ascertained; maybe a case of been at the right place at the wrong time.
Normalcy has since returned to the area.
