The Adamawa State Ministry of Youths and Sports will soon package a workshop across the twenty-one local governments in the state aim at sensitizing youths on the importance of peace and harmony in society.
Alhaji Sanusi Farouq Jauro who is the Commissioner in charge of the Ministry disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Yola that explained that youths in the state would be educated on dangers associated with violence and the need to avoid it.
“The #Endsars peaceful protest which was later hijacked by some politically motivated persons leading to destruction and looting of warehouses of government and private is uncalled for and has affected the planned program by the Ministry to celebrate Youth International Day.
“The violence that resulted in the breaking of Warehouse is not done by indigenes of Adamawa nor those that hold the peaceful Endsars protest, those involved in the violence are from neighboring States.
“Violence does not pay for any good, but bring setback to development and peaceful coexistence in the society”. He said.
Jauro then called on parents and guardians to always monitor the movement of their children and wards so as not to associate with bad peer groups.
