KANO — Kano Emir’s palace guards have killed a palace maid accused of witchcraft by beatings.
Sources at the Gidan Rumfa palace of the Emir, that a Princess, Ummulkhair Ado Bayero accused the maid of being a witch and allegedly ordered palace guards to beat the maid in order to force a confession.
However, the accused maid kept denying the allegation until she died from the beatings.
Confirming the development, spokesman of the Kano state Police Command DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said the command has arrested two men over the alleged killing.
Kiyawa said the matter is still under investigation.
