NewsCOE Hong Dismisses 3 Staff Including a Lecturer

YOLA — Three staff including a lecturer with the College of Education (COE) Hong, Adamawa State has been dismissed over certificate forgery.

Provost of the College, Dr. Yusuf Benson Baha who confirmed this in an interview said due process was followed in terminating the appointment of the affected staff.

“The affected staff that appeared before the committee set up to look into the issue of certificates confessed of possession of fake certificates-in the course of the investigation, another staff was found to have facilitated the forgery.

“The results were given by staff of the College and they were employed in the College, while the lecturer was due to his performance in teaching.

“After the committee sat, and brought their findings to the management, the management made recommendations to the council and the council approved their termination of appointments,” he said.

Baha said the measure will serve as a deterrent to others, as the present management of the institution is bent on seeing that right is done for the betterment of the institution and society at large.
