AWKA — Anambra State Police Command says it has arrested a culprit who attempted to rape a 12-year-old house girl at Ifite Awka.
The unidentified house girl had jumped from a storey building, fracturing her leg in the process, while trying to avoid rape by her master.
Though details of the incident are still sketchy, it was gathered that the incident took place at Ifite Awka on Thursday.
A journalist, Mrs. Ify Unachukwu who posted the incident on her Facebook page called for help for the young girl, who is said to be presently in critical condition, after escaping the ugly incidence
Unachukwu wrote” 12-year-old house help jumps down the window of a storey building to escape rape by her ‘Oga’. She sustained fracture of her leg bone (tibia). Now moved from Climax Specialist Hospital, Awka to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, COOUTH, Amaku.”
Meanwhile, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson of the command said the suspect was making a statement currently, assuring us that he will send the full detail of the incident to us once ready.
“The suspect in custody and investigation has begun please,” he added.
