To ensure adequate security during and after the Easter period in Zamfara State, over 400 personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were deployed across the state.
The State’s commandant of the Corps, Mr. A. A. Sparks said that the Corps will stop at nothing in ensuring a secured atmosphere of worship for the people of the State.
The commandant reiterated his resolve to work hand-in-hand with other sister agencies in order to stamp out criminality from the State.
Sparks assured residents and the people of the State of a hitch-free celebration said the personnel was deployed massively to flashpoints and all places of worship in the State to ensure that no hoodlum hijacked the period for a mischievous end.
“The Rapid Response Squad has been galvanized to give a 24-hour patrol this period in the metropolis and environs.
“The intelligent unit of the Corps has also been deployed en-mass to parks and bus stops to place surveillance on the general publics’ movements in and out of the State,” he said.
Sparks warned strongly that anyone contemplating using this celebration period to cause any kind of trouble or mischief would not go unpunished as the law would take its cause.
